Metaphors are a very useful way of explaining a concept to somebody. During the Professional Scrum Training (PSM), empirical process control, which is the foundation for Scrum, is explained by the metaphor of a thermostat. Now, given that metaphors work best when a person can relate to them, when the audience, reader, student has an emotional connection with the metaphor, we can always use another example.
